How does an Indian head massage work?
Allow plenty of time for your treatment; arrive 10 minutes early so there’s time to relax in our waiting area. If it is your first time you’ll be asked to complete a pre-treatment client questionnaire. Avoid drinking alcohol prior to the treatment. Our skilled therapist will guide you into the holistic suite and ask some questions to establish your needs. This will help to identify any areas or aspects of your body or skin which may require more focus during your treatment. Your therapist will then leave the treatment room to give you time make yourself comfortable. Indian head massage can be performed lied down or in a chair. Fully clothed or undressed covered by blankets, how ever you feel most comfortable. You will only need to remove top half so your therapist can work décolletage, neck and shoulders. You will not be completely exposed at any point during your treatment; your therapist will uncover one little bit of you at a time depending on the area she is focusing on. Warm oil will be drizzled directly onto the scalp and across the neck and shoulders. Your therapist will then perform massage techniques to release any tension, stresses and energy that’s no longer serving you. Pressures will be gently applied to certain points on the head, neck, face and shoulders that relate to each Chakra, aiming to invoke the bodies natural healing processes, your universal live force energy. Your treatment will finish with a mindful moment where you are encouraged to take 3 deep meditative breaths, followed by a glass of water and specific aftercare advice. Due to the liberal application of oil to the scalp, please bring a hair band or hair brush for after your treatment, we have mirrors in the holistic suite for your convenience.
